Infomediary

Infomediary’s goal is to bring data back to the people. Right now major corporations harvest our data without us being compensated. Companies have misused our data and we have no power when it comes to that. Thus, infomediary is trying to change that. We are creating a databank where users can upload all their social media and health data to have a personal copy for themselves and for the data bank. Once the data bank is vast, then having data in aggregate is more meaningful to a third party company. This allows us to have say in which companies we sell our data to and as a result we get a monetary reward or simply a detailed analysis on ourselves. Essentially, we have created a data union for people. Check out the live website and the whitepaper.

I assisted in the creation of the web application and I developed the iOS application in Swift. The iOS application connected to the iPhone’s HeathKit data and uploaded the data to the personal datastore that is hosted at www.infomediary.mit.edu
